The Problem
Customer feedback has highlighted dissatisfaction with both the quality and quantity of applications received through Indeed, as well as the challenges associated with scheduling interviews. User research has indicated that employers at small businesses often find themselves juggling multiple responsibilities and lacking expertise in hiring. Consequently, they invest significant time in the hiring process, which often results in receiving few or mismatched applications. Additionally, scheduling interviews proves to be a time-consuming task.

The MVP
Recognizing these challenges, my team resolved to assist them by harnessing the power of AI. Our aim is to enable employers to efficiently identify qualified applicants and seamlessly schedule interviews with them, streamlining the hiring process and alleviating their burden.
We opted to provide employers with recommendations to immediately enhance the appeal of their job postings, alongside integrating an auto-interview scheduling feature at the conclusion of the job posting process. I participated in the design workshop for the feature to develop the prototype. My teammates created and tested MVP afterwards.

The More Problems
After launching the MVP, we observed that employers were not activating the feature, and those who did enable it quickly disabled it. I have returned to the project with the aim of introducing the Virtual Recruiting Assistant to employers, ensuring they feel confident in their decision to opt in. Moreover, I provided tailored, AI-driven recommendations to optimize their job postings, aiming to attract a broader range of highly qualified applicants.
We analyzed unsuccessful jobs and identified two distinct types: those that receive an excessive number of applications and those that lack sufficient applications. Our suggestions were tailored based on the type of job, with the latter category receiving a greater number of recommendations. The image above exemplifies the former type of job, while the image below exemplifies the latter type.

The Result
After my design for the onboarding process and enhancing job improvement suggestions, more employers began utilizing the virtual recruiting assistant, with fewer disabling it thereafter. Additionally, the existing job posting funnel began integrating these improvement suggestions, resulting in employers attracting a greater number of qualified applications.
